Ana is back! She defeated Elena Dementieva (7th seed) 7-6 7-6 in the third round! She now advances to QF's. She will face world number one Caroline Wozniacki =)

She started her game with an ace, which would set the tone for the rest of the match. Even though she had problems with her toss she served 6 aces! (well, she had 6 DF also but shhh).

In this match Ana displayed some amazing forehands. 2008 forehands! =) She was moving beautifully down the baseline and the best thing was that she was enjoying it!!

Ana demonstrated AMAZING defence!

Commentator: "Elena is dancing to the tune of Ana Ivanovic"

"It was a fun match to be a part of. There were some great points and I feel like I did a good job of playing aggressively, hitting near the lines but not making too many mistakes."

The second set was more solid for both Ana and Elena.

Throughout the match I recorded how many times Ana said “AJDE”. Here are the results =)

AJDE’S IN THE FIRST SET

1.  The first "ajde" from Ana came when she confirmed her 5-2 lead in the 1st set
2.  5-3 40-30
3.  5-3 40-40
4.  5-3 adv-40
5.  6-5 lead
6.  Tie break first set à 1-0
7.  AN AJDE SO LOUD at 2-0 (amazing winner)
8.  4-2
9.  5-2 (great rally!)

AJDES IN THE SECOND SET

1.  At 30-0
2.  40-0
3.  3-3 (great forehand!)
4.  3-4 40-15 (awesome forehand winner at the junction of sideline and baseline)
5.  Tie break: An ace at 3-3 (so LOUD ajde!)
6.                 4-3 (another ace!!)

TOTAL: 15 Ajdes in the match! Not bad =)

Head to head: with today's victory they will now be 4-2 (leading the series Elena still)

Elena's mom have been on the road with her since the beginning, just like Ana's mom. I haven't seen Dragana in Beijing though, I wonder where she is...

"I served well and that was important, especially in the tiebreaks. She's such a tough opponent, so this victory gives me a lot of pleasure."

With this win Ana moves back to the top 30! Baby steps people.

To end this post I would like to quote what the commentator said about Ana:
"Ana is obviously good looking, she has a certain charisma... radiation. She is a former GS champion!"
"Playing like this, you understand why she is number one and why she won a GS title"

AJDE ANA!

Elena was 5-0 in the third but Kimiko fought back to 5-3. It was not enough, Lena's determination was bigger today =)
